Grosse Ile Township & VFW Post 7310 is proud to announce the “Inaugural Veterans Gala” saluting "The Greatest Generations" with a very special tribute to the B-26 Marauder Historical Society Veterans”!!! This event is being held with community support -time, talents and goods are all being donated - our small community and surrounding sister communities are certainly demonstrating their love for our WWII Veterans and Rosie the Riveters!

Starting on August 5, 2010 tickets will go on sale:

Day:                 September 10, 2010
Time:               6:30p.-11:30 p.
Adults:             $12 in advance / $15 at the door.
GIHS:              $ 8 one per student with photo ID ONLY at Township Hall

River Raisin Jazz Festival 2010

The Monroe Big Band will be opening this year’s River Raisin Jazz Festival once again at 1pm! As this year’s poster indicates, David Sanborn will be the headliner, so come to support the local guys and get a world-class act later that day!

Big Band Showcase 2010

Come join the Saline Big Band and the Monroe Big Band for its 8th Annual Big Band Showcase at Woodhaven High School, Friday, February 19, 2010 at 7:30pm. Tickets are only $5 and all proceeds go to the Woodhaven Band Boosters. Seniors get in “2 for 1”!

What do Frank Sinatra, Harry Connick, Jr., Michael Buble, the Brian Setzer orchestra,and Count Basie have in common? You can hear any or all of these when you make the Monroe Big Band a part of your evening. Male & Female vocalists, Joel Zmuda and Lisa Young are a regular feature in most venues. Monroe Big Band, also known as River Raisin Jazz, will bring the live sounds that ONLY a full big band brings with real musicians playing real music.
